The Friends of the Park Forest Health Department, NFP:

The Friends is a 501(c)(3) organization registered in the State of Illinois and managed by a volunteer Board of Directors that meets six times a year. The Friends organization was founded to further the interests of the Park Forest Health Department, including:

* increasing public awareness and stimulating public support
* co-sponsoring educational programs
* encouraging gifts in support

Donations to the Friends of the Park Forest Health Department, a 501(c)(3) organization, are tax deductible as allowed by law. In these days of questionable requests for support, we can assure you that 100% of the monies donated will be used to assist the PFHD in providing services for those in need. Donations are distributed among three funds for use by the PFHD at the discretion of the Friends Board of Directors.

* The Abraham Lincoln Allen Jr. Youth Services Fund supports school physicals and youth immunizations.
* The Ralph Medhurst Nurses Comfort Fund pays for bath services, health screening, medication management, and other custodial-type services for low-income, homebound elderly persons.
* The Unrestricted Fund pays for equipment, supplies, and promotional materials and activities for the PFHD that fall outside the parameters of their established budget.

The Friends Board accepts memorials, applies for grants, and makes direct appeals to the community for funding.
